The beautiful bells of our Cathedral ring out to the city.  The bells need constant repair to the aging equipment, bell yokes, and structural frames.

The infrastructure of the Cathedral ceiling is deteriorating in places and plaster keys are broken, damaged or missing.  The repair to this area of our beloved Cathedral is vitally important.

The floors and walls have seen centuries of faithful worship in this holy space.  Over those years, the moist soil of Louisiana shifts and settles.  The work of structural engineers is needed to repair foundational cracks, replace termite-damaged wood trusses and stabilize of our beloved Cathedral.

The stunning beauty of the Cathedral makes a visit memorable.  To return parts of that beauty, cosmetic attention is needed on the interior of the Cathedral.  The Cathedral needs full interior ceiling renovations including repairing bad plaster and the prep and paint of wood columns, molding, windows and trim.

Full Stained Glass Restoration

The artistic restoration and preservation project of the Cathedral’s stained glass remains a top priority.  The meticulous process of restoration includes: removing all the windows, re-leading the stained glass seams, replacing missing pieces, sanding and painting steel frames, and the reinstallation of the stained glass panels.

Exterior Waterproofing of the Cathedral

The vicious elements of south Louisiana take their toll on our city’s icon.  The work is needed to waterproof the outside so that it does not succumb to the elements.  Everything from stucco repair to sealants are needed.  All this work will be done to honor historic building codes of the Vieux Carre Commission while protecting this gem for generations.
